A Gaythering Storm

So yet another hysterical parody of NOM’s “Gathering Storm” ad has been made and it ended with this clever domain name. Strangely enough, Funny or Die didn’t register the domain. So I decided it was worth setting up just to keep the conversation going  – FOR Gay Marriage.

Here’s the parody:

So what should we do with this domain? Comments or suggestions?

    If Gawd had wanted us to have a Giant Gay Repellent Umbrella, He (don’t start with me, you feminist-Nazis!) would have made it possible for us to build one. Given us the cubits measurements and all. What we need is something like StarSearch for the Noah who is Annointed to this task of building it. I strongly suspect Stephen Cobert is either him (back off femi-Nazis! Only a Man could be Noah), or knows who he is…

    Just the fact that the acronym is NOM makes me LOL pretty damn hard. In my mind, I see all these conservative Christians coming out of churches like zombies and NOMing on some gays.

    If you truly want to repell gay people and protect yourselves with an umbrella, just make it out of Polyester. :-) I heard that Polyester burns the skin of gay people and makes them melt much in the same way that water melted the Wicked Witch of the West.

    I buy this water repellent spray in a can to put on my tent and camping gear. Maybe we could develop a gay repellent spray so that everyone can repel gays off of everything they own! Spray it on your house, your car, your grandmother, and your fabulously adorable Pomeranian.

    It could come in scents like Motor Oil Musk, Paisley Croc, Morning Mullet, or Fred Phelps Fantasy.

    @Sarabobeara, just stay away from the ellen’s pants scent or you might atract alot of lessies. . . oh but we so need a T.R. Knight’s Shirt series cuz gay guys are epic like that!!!!

    STOP IT STORM! I am just so afraid. As God as my witness, I will use all of my resources to aid the building of our Giant Gay Repellent Umbrella. Peace be with all of you… except for those gay or gay married.

    @Aaron, That’s what my club (GSA) did in the San Diego Pride parade last year. We were using the “Umbrellas for Peace” idea

    I suggest showing both videos on a big screen atop a float at every Gay Pride Parade that can afford to do so; or at least at the festival.

    I’m from Europe and say – protect yourself from gay marriage, America, while you still can!
    In Europe, straight people must hide in caves, people are forced to gay marry all the time, not to mention that children are being taken away from their parents and given to the gays! ;_;

    Seriously, I’m writing it from the cell they locked me in after I refused to gay marry. Well, at least it’s comfy here and the food is delicious. Plus, the prison outfit? Fabulous!

    I do not see how the parody video clip is at all positive!!! ???

    It calls again on banning ALL PEOPLE´s HUMAN RIGHTS!!! And it is made by gay people who spitt on gay issues like it is a joke…

    What is good about that???

    Keeper of the Umbrella Reply:

    @Angelsheart,

    This video clip is a parody of the original commercial that NOM produced and has aired in some states. The claims made in the parody video are the same claims being made in the NOM video. The tone of the delivery of the claims in the parody video is satirical and sarcastic. The claims are rediculous and the comedians in the parody video are attempting to make fun of them.

    LOVE THIS! When y’all decide what it would be (being from Northern California perhaps a Giant Gay Yurt Umbrella is in order) let me help you build it! xoxoxo, Pk

    I understand that this site is supposed to poke fun at NOM; but if this site is more high-profile than those of groups advocating against NOM (or NOM’s stance on the issue), perhaps it would be good to post some factual stuff as well. Direct responses to the ridiculous claims made at NOM’s website would be one way to start.

    Its all about hate. Why show love and tolerance when you can just hate? So much easier! Alicia S. is the role model of a hate-filled person.

    the internet. it’s serious business. no exceptions.

    i just saw the original video a couple of minutes ago. then i watched this. it was epic i couldn’t stop laughing. honestly guys, an umbrella? i bet a gay-absorbing shamwow would do better. people need to get their facts straight. gay marriages take away your freedom? if by some chance their cause actually succeeds, wouldn’t they be taking away the freedom of those who are supporting gay marriages? stupid much? the gaythering storm video slays all other spoofs imo.
